Earlier this week I was honored to be invited to attend the grand opening of The First Tee program facility at Edward J. Briscoe Elementary in Fort Worth. This is the first facility connected to a school in the entire nation. The facility has an artificial turf putting green, chipping green, driving range and classrooms. They have plans to expand even more in the coming years.
This is a significant achievement both for The First Tee and Fort Worth ISD. This facility and The First Tee program provide opportunities and experiences for students that in most cases would not otherwise have them.
Also during this time, Joe Luis Barrow, the CEO of The First Tee, was honored for his 17 years of service and his upcoming retirement. I was able to speak with him and share our stories and experiences through our work with The First Tee. I continue to be humbled by the work this organization does and am blessed to be a part of it.
